Just like every human has different nature, similarly i believe in that every kid has different nature, they're varying from each other and we've to tackle the situation differently with each person or a kid. I'm not a mom but somewhere i read it teacher's are spiritual parents of a child lol so i think yeah I'm dealing with kids too.

Punishment or rewards works better!!!
Obviously being a teacher i really hate it when I give a lesson to the class and the next day students don't give me good report, some of them learn so cleverly while some are slow that they don't even want to be there but they're there in school. Mostly I've to deal with high school kids girls and boys both and in my ways punishment isn't a good option.
Believe me, by giving a punishment to a kid is just like he'll be used to of it and he's like it's ok time will pass and he's getting to rude with other's and with himself too. My Dad always taught me that if you feel like a kid is getting used to of your punishment and he doesn't care then you're so wrong and you lost your control on him so you've to change your way.
In my opinion, or from my experience giving rewards are best to bring improvement in a kid, because to get that rewards or to hear some good words kids try to do it. We can't punish them, i think punishment isn't a way to change the mind set if you're trying to bring a change then you've to change your mind too and start getting reinforcement even on their little or small achievement then you see that they'll try to bring more achievement.
But still there are many kids who don't even care for rewards as they think they can buy these things on their own so for them rewards also can't work but you're the master so you've to play a role and it doesn't mean your rewards always a something that could buy but your rewards should be something that could really earn like you start to praise the kid even in front of the kid just like you're appreciating and in that way he'll like you too and he'll start to improve.

I really don't know what kind of mom I'll lol but what i know is I'm not a strict teacher, like I'm not that kind of who give heavy punishment to kids or students but instead of punishing be friendly with them and believe me kids are the most interesting Humans because every day we learn something from them and your feelings are very good too because after giving punishment you only feel regret.
