Trust is the most important thing in every kind of relationship, although the relation is personal or it's something about your counseling or your treatment but trust is important factor as once it's broken then no chance to get it repair fully. We've to assure them their secrets are save with us and they can tell us freely everything.

Counseling a patient!!!
I'm going to talk about the psychiatrist or a doctor but mostly a psychiatrist because people got stress at home that they can't think they can share it with anyone but when the anxiety and stress cross it's limit then there's no way to get rid of but we choose to get a counseling from the psychiatrist. And sometimes the things are worst that we feel hesitate to share it our doctor.
In previous months I watched the most top rated series of Netflix which is breaking bad, it's about drugs as obviously it's illegal. The lady come to know that her husband is making drug and contacted with drugs and she was very upset like she thinks that she needs get divorced as her kids aren't safe in this environment.
One thing i noticed that when she started to take counseling from psychiatrist then after some session she has courage to tell the psychiatrist is actual thing that why she's so worried. And psychiatrist handled that she needs to contact with police because it's related to someone's life, her husband killing people in this way and she should safe the world but she thinks that she can't share because her kids think they've a good Dad.
In my opinion, client privilege is important as we shouldn't reveal their secrets, it's not our duty, i think there's a way to handle this situation like after a few day's or after listening to them doctors or lawyer's give them a suggestion to handle the situation like you can do it and you should do this in this way. Instead of doing that I'm going to tell them. If there's something about life then still there's a way that client can solve it instead the doctor or lawyer personally involved in the case.
My personal point of view
I'm not a doctor nor a lawyer but my profession is like that with a teacher I've to be a good listener, there's several times when your students share their thing's with you. What i do is just listen to them, and then giving them a advice instead of shouting on them and instead of saying you're wrong, i try to handle things differently. We can't strict with them as we should assure them that we're on their side. But there's always to way to solve even harsh cases too and we've to figure that.

To save the world from more dangerous thing's, trust is important and we can't broke it because if it's break then maybe your patients will no longer comfortable with you to share thing's and they hide things from you and you can't give them a good treatment so in my opinion client privilege should be priority.
