Although the creator made us male and female, with distinctive roles, but in his eyes, we're all equal, no special preference for the male or female. This is how it should be in the home and society. Every gender matters and should be given equal and fair treatment as the other.

The home is different from the society, and every member of the family have their distinctive roles to play.

Like you pointed out, the wife is there as a support, a helper, to the man, and also the manager of the home, while the man, is the provider of the family's needs and the head of the home. A shift in this perspective has led to the very many issues, problems and distortions, we see in marriages today.

Imagine a man who's role is to make sure that the family's table is well provided for is now asking the woman what she'll bring to the table. This action alone proves that he's yet to be a man - in the real sense of it.
