Everything School Forgot To Mention 101

Life, they say, is full of what?

You know our elders would always tell us to put our best into whatever we were doing, and we should always be open to learn new things, and that life isn't all about going to school and getting good grades, and honestly, I agree with them.
Sometimes you might graduate with the best results but still end up being jobless. Especially in my country Nigeria lol.

It takes a lot of connections and hard work to land yourself a very good-paying job that would cover all your expenses. You can argue with your keyboard if you disagree with me.
My question is that before that job comes, what can you do to hold yourself up? And while holding yourself up, what are the side tools to help you not crumble?

Concerning my first sentence, I'd say life is full of surprises. I didn't get to learn this in school, and I'm sorry to burst your bubble that no one would tell you this when you're in school, you only get to find out that real life starts once you graduate from school. You might put in all the effort and still end up having nothing.

Before I graduated from high school, I had already faced a lot of difficulties. At that point, I knew that just holding onto my books and doing nothing would lead me nowhere. And with plenty of advice from my mum, I bet you I was already equipped to face life head-on.

One thing they would never tell you in school is how important learning a skill is. All they do is tell you to read your books and focus on your studies and that every other thing is a big distraction.
Trust me when I say that's a big fat lie!!!!!!!!!
You'd never know how life will go... And that skill might save you tomorrow. I didn't learn how to bake from anywhere, all I did was watch YouTube videos and see, that's what I'm using to support myself in school. Learn that skill, and you'll thank me later.
And trust me when I say no skill is a waste

What are these lessons that have helped shape my perspective about life that I didn't learn in school

Just because you feel it's wrong doesn't mean it's wrong🤷.... I meant every word I just said.
Life is a jungle, and if you're not ready to play your cards right and you just want to abide by the rules all the time, I'm sorry, sweetie, it'll take a lot of time for you to get there, and sometimes you might never get to your peak.

In a game of cards, everything's fair, after all, the rules were set by just one person to favor themself.
What do I mean, work smart, and not Hard. That doesn't mean you shouldn't put in the effort. You want to please everyone by doing the right thing? Not everyone is playing fair and you playing fair doesn't make you any special. And who said the game is even fair in the first place?

Secondly, grab every opportunity that comes your way like your life depends on it. And when it's your turn to shine, don't think twice and make the most of every moment, because it won't last forever. Shine your shine, and if you think it would blind the next Aproko by your side, still shine brighter. And I know this might sound weird, and I'm so sorry to burst your bubble gum, but there's always someone to replace you.

And lastly, be a fool to love. Embrace the heartbreak, the tears, the happy moments. So what if you both don't end up together? Just like I said earlier, when it's your time to climb the stage and shine, do it with every fibre of your being. Sometimes life gives us the most beautiful gifts when we just open our arms and heart to receive*.

This is where I draw the curtains for now, thanks for sticking with me from the first paragraph to this full stop.❤️❤️

Honestly, surviving in school is so different from surviving outside school. You've said it all. School will shock you, but the greatest shocker is outside school if you are not prepared for the outside world.
