Greetings!
One thing I have so far realized is that to rule is kind of difficult and this is because governments are always saddled with power and authority which are used to formulate policies.
Policy formulation is one of the key functions of the government and sometimes, these policies might be good and the other time, one would think if the government even knows what they are doing about the kind of policies they have formulated.
So, governance at times can be so tedious for the leaders as taking decisions is not something simple. They might think they are doing the right thing which on the other way round might not be too good for the entire populace.
Having said this, I would like to talk about some of the bad backed policies of the government in my country which have put the entire country into hardship.
One of those policies is the cashless policy of the past government in the country. During the time of this policy which was in late 2022, and early 2023, everything was so difficult for both the poor and the rich. I could vividly remember how people were suffering on top of their money which they had deposited conveniently in the bank.
Back then, you see people waking up very early in the morning to go and queue at the various ATM stands just for them to be able withdraw their saved money and the funny thing is that, if one is not careful, one may not be able to withdraw his or her money that day in which such a person will trek on empty pocket.
In one of those days, I woke up very early and set out to queue up at one of the banks ATM section and on getting, I met about 500 people already on queue, it's then I asked myself how it would get to my turn before 8am when I'm expected to resume back to work, however, with faith, I stood back and waited till past 8 in the morning and to my greatest surprise, money has not been loaded into ATM.
So, seeing that nothing was about to happen, I left the place for work without anything on me. I had nothing to board a taxi neither do I have anything to even buy snacks to eat. It's a difficult time for us as a nation with the misplaced policy of the government.
Although people later adjusted to the policy, but it's not easy as so many people lost their lives, livelihoods and a whole lot of things back then.
Even till now, the aftermath of the policy can still be felt by not only the poor, but the entire people of the country. Although we were being told that the policy was a good one by some economists, till now,.no one has seen the good side of the policy.
In conclusion, policy making can just go wrong and in fact against the masses and this could turn out to put the masses in danger.
