It's from the time immemorial that making sacrifices has been in existence. In the past and mostly from biblical history, we've heard and read about how the various biblical characters made sacrifices to save their life and that of others. So when talking about making sacrifices, it started a long time ago and not now.
Still on making sacrifices for oneself and others, one major sacrifice being made so far is that of Jesus Christ coming to the world to lay down his life just to save the world from their sin.
So, making sacrifices is not just an ordinary thing or action. It's a thing that in most cases saves lives. Though this didn't used to come with ease, the benefits are numerous and saving lives is the most recognized part of making sacrifice.
I could remember when I was an undergraduate back then in the university. In those days, there's this NGO that used to come to our school for blood donation and we the students used to troop out just to donate our bloods to save lives. Though this used to come with welfare packages, but notwithstanding, it's an act of sacrifice.
So, making sacrifices is one of the best things and help one can offer to oneself and the society at large and going by the topic of the prompt which is about helping people to cure cancer if the drugs should be found in one's blood. Seriously, if I too would be the saviour of the world through the curable gene deposited in my blood, I personally would not hesitate to do that. This is because of what I have always seen and observed about people facing one ailment or the other.
For example, my mum died of a cancer related complications and it's painful we had no solution to her cause of death back then, had it been there's a solution to the cause of her death back then, maybe we would have gone all out for it at any amount, but we couldn't ans this later resulted to her sudden death. So, since then, I have made up my mind to always be of help and solution to the problem of people most especially if it's health wise.
So, if such is found in my blood, it would certainly be a great opportunity for me to fulfill my promise to my late mum and also, to fulfill my destiny as a solution to my generation.
So, if that should be the case, I would make myself available as a sacrificial lamb to the people and would allow the doctors and the pharmaceutical company to do well and extract the needed quantity and quality from me.
But. If I do that, I will make sure people are not exploited by the government or those in charge of it.

So, if I have something hidden somewhere in my blood that can be used to cure cancer, I will voluntarily make myself available without any recourse and like I have said in the illustration given above about the loss of my mum and my experience, who am I to keep the antidote to myself and see people suffering from cancer, a deadly disease that has sent many to their early graves without any remedy and for those people that have been diagnosed with the ailments, they are the set of people expecting death without any hope of getting healed from it.
So, with my experience, I will make myself available, but with the hope that the antidote would not be used to exploit those that are in need of it. Not only that, I would make sure the antidote is subsidized for those that are in need of it. Also, I would also bargain what my own share of the proceeds would be and maybe after the bargain, I would make sure I used part of the money given to me to take care of myself and my family and also the less privileged in the society would also be a partaker of the money and I would also raise a foundation that would be taking care of cancer related disease. So, making myself a sacrificial lamb with my available wouldn't be of any problem to me.
