Greetings!
The motto in which I'm operating is, “never give up.” This motto has really served me better and whatever I am today is as a result of this singular motto.
Prior to me embracing this motto, I have tried a series of things, but all to no avail. I have ventured into businesses that I needed to quit all just because of my inability to press on when the challenges of life arose.
However, when I realized that nothing would change if I continued that way, I decided to be resilient in my approach to getting things done.
There's a time I put my money in the Nigeria stock exchange market. It's a friend that introduced me to the investment and I decided to give it a trial and this was on the heels of many business and investment failures.
At first, when I started the investment, I entered on a bullish market level when all the stock were doing fine and people were cashing out day in and day out, so all the stock I bought back then was on high.
So, it got to a point that all the stock I bought at a high price began to drop and it's then that the reality was that I have invested wrongly all because I didn't have a thorough knowledge and understanding about the investment.
Just because of this, I was downcast and I did not know what to do. I called the friend of mine that introduced me to the business and all he could tell me was that I should exercise patience and never give up as it would rise again.
This was at a period that I was already perplexed and was looking for money to cater for myself and my family. Then, the urge to quit was in me as I believed this was like the old same story where failure on investment had become part of me.
However, I decided to heed to the advice of this friend of mine, Sanmi. Although, it wasn't that easy for me during the waiting time as the economy really happened to me.
But after a few months, what had gone down before now began to rise and it's like a dream when I triple what I had previously invested in.
When I called the guy that introduced me to the investment and told him about what had just happened, he burst into laughter and said, that's how life works.
He said, one thing he had realized about life is that, life would always happen to all and would not even give to us what we deserve unless we strive for the best and decide not to give up.
He further said that, “quitters never win and winners never quit.” So, ever since then, I have chosen the motto, “never give up,” and it's always been working for me.
