Greetings!

Confidence is one thing that's essential for our growth. Without confidence, it would be difficult for any human being to go far in life as confidence always boosts our belief to succeed in life.
Having said this, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about, “confidence.”
Like I said earlier, it's good to be confident in anything we do as it will do us a great favour on our way to succeed in all our endeavors in life.
However, if we harbor fear in our heart as a result of our first attempt at doing a particular thing or project, then, it would be kind of difficult for us to go far in life.
In lieu of this, I would like you to permit me to go down memory lane. Some time ago, when I was in secondary school and was asked to sit for my WAEC GCE examination when I was in senior secondary school 1, I was so afraid just because I heard that the standard of the examination was higher than my class.
Although, I was a brilliant student in whom everyone including my teachers believed would pass the examination without any doubt. However, because of the fear that had preempted my mind before the examination, I couldn't do well in the examination.
So. When the result came out, my brilliance as a bright and brilliant student came to nothing.
Both my parents and the teachers who had vouched for me just because of their belief in my ability and capacity were disappointed when they saw my result.
I too was disappointed in myself and this led me to preparing well and as a result, my confidence was rebuilt and in my getting to the senior secondary school 2, I sat for the same examination and I passed well.
So, ever since my first attempt which came out to be disappointing with failures. I brazenly prepared myself for future first attempt occurrences and thank God the same story didn't repeat itself again.
What happened at my first Job interview was a testament to this, then I had no experience of what an interview would look like. Although we have been lectured about how interviews used to look like when I was in the NYSC, I have never been present at the hall before.
So, on the set of this interview, I went to the venue with a whole lot of confidence in myself. On getting to the venue, I saw and met people who have been to so many interviews discussing how hard an interview session used to be, but as for me, I was not moved by their words as I was fully prepared for the interview which had thousands of people in attendance in which only fifty would be selected.
However, when it got to my turn to be interviewed, I went in there into hall with full confidence and at the interview session, I was asked series of question in which I answered with confidence, even the one I didn't know was also answered with confidence and after the session, I was commended on my confidence and one of the interviewers told me that confidence and composure was what they were looking and they promised to get back to me in due time and that's how I was selected to be in the list of the fifty.
In conclusion, as a first timer, we can still grow our confidence to succeed in our first attempt. There's no law that bars our confidence in the first outing and it's even necessary for our success in that endeavor.
This is my entry to week 209, episode 03 of the weekly Featured contest in the Hive Learners community.
