Greetings!
Allowance is very good and it's always well deserved to those who are entitled to it and this is because it would help them to supplement what they earn through their wages or salary or by any other means they are entitled to their earnings.
Having said so much about allowances and its benefits. I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt in the Hive Learners community which is all about. “Allowance.”
Well to me, giving allowances to my kids is not something that should be a problem to me as I would not want them to suffer or lack anything. I so much love the idea of giving a stipend in the form of an allowance to my kids, so as for them to be able to take good care of themselves.
However, that may not be feasible or possible when they are still under my roof, most especially, when I still make for them all they need to survive under my care.
Although this may seem a little bit harsh, I'm telling you my reader that even if I have everything needed to be a good father, I wouldn't give any of them an allowance.
I would have loved to, but giving them allowance when I still provide for all their needs is not ideal to me as I wouldn't know what they would be needing the money for since I have made everything needed available to them.
If such money is given to them, they may squander it anyhow and think it's normal for them to do so.
I have seen someone like that, this fellow happened to be my friend at the university, his parents were civil servants and just because he was the only one given birth to, they spoiled him using the same method of providing for all his needs and at the same time, giving him allowances.
However, when the economic situation forced the government not to pay them their salaries, they stopped what they had started with their kids and that's in the form of giving him allowances which he was fully accustomed to.
Although they were meeting his needs and demands, because he could not get the allowances, he became something else and was caught stealing from people on so many occasions.
It's in one of those times he was caught that he confessed and narrated everything to us and since then, I realized that to show love to our kids is not only by giving them allowances, but by every other legitimate means.
So, if I would give any of my kids any allowance, that would be when they are no more under my roof and by then, I believe they might be in need of things that wouldn't have been made available by me for them and they would by then know the essence of what allowances means.
