All three of these infamous diet plans were found to reduce the risk of type 2 DM:
- The Mediterranean diet with 17% risk reduction
- The DASH (dietary approaches to stop hypertension) diet with 23% risk reduction, and
- The AHEI (Alternative Healthy Eating Index) diet with 21% risk reduction
Researchers have reached this conclusion after analysing data from 33 studies with a total sample size of 800,000 people!
