Hi there. How are you? I hope you are doing great. Welcome to my short diary for Sunday, June 22, 2025!
Sunday was the first EPI vaccination day for the newborn. He is two months old now, Alhamdulillah! There is a government health center from which we get the vaccinations, and it's free for all. We went there at around 8 am. We registered his name. It took more time than expected to get the shots. We had to wait in the queue even though it was early morning. At first, one nurse checked the baby's growth. Then again, waiting for a child specialist to examine him and give a green signal for the vaccination. It took over half an hour to get the chance. From there, we were directed to the vaccination room. There were also some delays. Finally, we were called to take the shots. He was given one oral vaccine and two intramuscular vaccines. We returned home immediately.
Due to the vaccination schedule, I had to change the duty time. After finishing all the procedures, I could join the morning shift duty at 10 am. It ended at 1 pm. The evening shift duty was like the regular one, from 4 pm to 9 pm. It was an easy day at work where I consulted only 20 patients in my chamber.
One child came with a cut and a crush injury to his right thumb. He was demanding to go to his father's workplace for a long time. His father and uncle took him to the workplace (construction work) for the first time. Unfortunately, the boy sustained an injury there. His thumb was stuck between two heavy objects. The nail was partially detached, and there was a cut injury to the inner aspect. I had to put 3 stitches to close the wound. We did an X-ray of the affected finger, and there was a suspected crack!!
Another man came with a pretty big cut injury to his right hand, with a knife. It happened 6 hours ago, and he kept covering the wound with a piece of cloth. However, it was bleeding profusely upon removing that cloth. I had to put 5 stitches to close the wound.
I could walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes after 10 pm. It helped me reach 13,760 steps on Sunday!

Sustaining muscle strength and protein intake
Maintaining muscle strength and protein intake is crucial to prevent muscle loss due to aging. Regular muscle strength training and consuming at least 0.36 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day can help support muscle building. Protein sources include both plant-based and meat-based options such as beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds, lean meats, fish, dairy products, and soy products. It's best to distribute protein intake across multiple meals throughout the day rather than consuming it in a single meal. Be cautious when considering dietary supplementary protein products.
