Happy Chooseday π Do remember to choose happy always (most esp. today π). Well, I woke up to a cloudy morning. There's a super typhoon passing through the northern part of the country. It's pretty huge so it's drawing in monsoon rains in the metro. We did get a fair share of rainfall today. I don't think it's too much, just right to make it cooler inside the flat and also to make the plants happy as they get their vitamins from the rain.
I shared a video yesterday on the mass protests that happened last Sunday. I do wonder what happens next as the fight against corruption is a never-ending task for us. In my opinion, it has gotten worse in the last ten years. I'd say it started with the previous administration. Sadly, a lot of local folks seem to be oblivious to the plight of the nation. There's this quote that I found and shared on FB that said, "Loyalty should be to the Philippines, not to politicians." In translation the latter part said, "if your politician is more important to you than your nation, then you're part of the problem." I couldn't help but agree. However, in my view, our nation has a bigger problem. Seeing the results of every election makes me realize what the problem is. I don't really know if this problem could ever be solved. I'm usually optimistic but not today and not on this topic. Unless majority of Filipinos would learn to think for themselves and choose the right leaders to run the country, I see little hope for positive change. π It is what it is.
On the lighter side of life, my dinner for tonight was the macaroni salad. I don't want to kid myself but I don't think that's enough for me, so I just made myself an extra cheese sandwich. π

A-ha! There it goes.. that's how one develops wisdom. I think learning from past mistakes also helps. More importantly, not making the same mistake again and again shows one is truly learning and becoming wiser as time goes by. π Wish I can say the same for my nation. π΅
