Happy Chooseday π remember to choose happy always π Yep, it's that time of the week when I try to write about what's on my mind. Today I'm a little sleepier than usual so I'm not sure if I can do it much justice. π I could, however, still try. π Well, my nights for sure are quieter since my daughter's working the night shift now and time zone difference kinda sucks. I'll get used to it and wait till she adjusts and finds the time for our chat. For the meantime, I can keep busy or entertained. π
I'll paraphrase this famous quote : between the stimulus and the response is a choice. It's a longer quote but that's basically the essence of it. We have the power to choose how we respond to any given situation. It does help to take time to breathe then think logically on what to do next. This is exactly what happened to me earlier in the evening. You see, my meals delivery for the following day usually arrives between four to six pm. I'm not sure why today it was pretty late as it crossed the time when I'm supposed to have my early evening walk. I was a bit rattled but I chose to carry on my usual walk as I debated with myself on what to do next. I did eventually inquire from the company just to appease my mind. π Well, my delivery finally arrived past seven in the evening as I was about to feed the kitties their dinner. By then, I was almost done with my walk. Glad it turned out just fine. π Whew!
Well, my example is pretty specific, but I guess every day I work on focusing more on things I can change rather than reacting to things or people (or even pets) I have no control over. I find that helps me keep calm more often. π I'd like to think it's also better for my peace of mind.

Glad this quote is tuned in to my topic for today. They say you can't teach old dogs new tricks -- they don't want to learn. I think it very much refers to us too. Truly lucky are those folks with the capacity to learn just about anything with little or no effort. For the rest of us, it may take a little more hard work and perseverance to be able to learn new stuff at all. π Most importantly though is the willingness to learn. We mostly do not even give it a thought if something is not to our liking. Perhaps learning a foreign language can be a specific example. We all know children learn it best. I did learn to be trilingual in school. π€ Bottom line is if there's a will, there's always a way.
Fourteen days to go. Oh wow! That's exactly two weeks to go before a new month comes. π who's counting? π€£ I'd say let's just enjoy each day as it comes.
