I have this evening a "Very Different" #aliveandthriving post - which was my Friday morning! I am actually quite happy and "Blessed" after it all to still be #aliveandthriving for sure!
So let's begin!
So doing my normal morning routine I was taking out the trash and the Sky looked like this,
Reasonably normal morning - right? So I continue on with my morning routine like normal. I was in the shower (imagine if it had been worse!) and I heard a "loud - I mean Loud" noise and a few things in the bathroom are knocked over. I assume somehow maybe the Kitties have knocked over the bikes and that took out some shelves or something.
Not quite seeing evidence of all that - bikes still up, I looked outside, half dressed...
I saw that power lines were down,
Still not fathoming what's going on I heard these guys yelling to go back inside...
Bizarre, so I looked to the right,
And left,
I walked out a bit, though by now they were yelling "the lines are hot" at me! I saw this,
Yep that's my place with the Pole laying against the back of the house!
Long story short, the garbage guy was backing back out of the driveway here with a little speed and the "tongs still up" - I didn't know that you could do that! Anyways the tongs caught the power lines and pulled everything down! Also amazing... I am the only one who never lost power!
Here is a few more views! In this you can see that the power lines fell right behind my truck,
Now this is the other side,
My friend is lucky - as are we all that he still has a car, it was parked right there!
Here is a view on how he and others lost power,
After "awhile" these guys showed up,
Here they are extending the boom to push the pole off my house - more interior vibrations!
And setting the new pole and connecting wires and getting the power up! And again at this time they were "sure" that all the power was out... But not at my place - it never went out!
And that was my Friday - until about 1:00 p.m.!
