I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I have a bit more information to share about my experiences with VSC (Virtual Smart Chain) and Altera (the present frontend), and what I've learned since publishing my post detailing my initial steps yesterday. So every wallet that we use to connect to VSC (via Altera) is completely separate from any other, and given that sufficient liquid HBD is required to provide the necessary Resource Credits to perform transactions, that means that we will need to send at least 1 HBD to each wallet that we use (via Altera), so that we are able to perform trasactions using those chosen wallets. I inquired about the idea of making it like it is on Hive, where even if an account has zero HP, it can still perform one or two transactions. I was informed that the problem with that is that EVM wallets have no creation cost, which makes HBD for Resource Credits necessary.
In my case, I'll mostly be using Atomic Wallet and Trust Wallet, along with my Hive account of course, so to prepare myself to be able to use VSC quickly, easefully, efficiently, and effectively on a regular basis, I need to allocate 3 HBD to these wallets (1 HBD each), to start, then increase it over time on each as I come to require more transactions. Since I know that I'll be making use of VSC a great deal, at least as much as Hive Engine, I want to get myself as ready as possible before the full expression of VSC is rolled out.
The number of different wallets that are presently supported to use with Altera/VSC is astoundingly high, over 400, so most people shouldn't have any problems connecting their preferred wallets to Altera to use VSC. Only the assets connected to any particular wallet will be visible in Altera, which makes sense, and sending assets between wallets is a very easy process. Sending assets from a Hive account to an EVM wallet requires only the address of the wallet that you intend to use, and for the reverse, only our Hive account's name is needed. It takes a little getting used to it, but it's not at all difficult.
Since I intend and plan to get involved with the diesel/liquidity pools on VSC as soon as they're implemented, even though I'll also be using Atomic Wallet and Trust Wallet for sending and receiving assets, I'll keep most of my assets, regardless of blockchain, on my Hive account, to make things easier to manage. For me, my Hive account is the wallet to rule all the rest.
VSC is an entirely new layer-2 infrastructure for Hive, one that is at least as significant as Hive Engine (probably more so), and there's no question that it will very heavily utilized in the near future, so I very strongly suggest that anyone reading this gets themselves involved as soon as possible, to begin getting familiar and accustomed to how Altera and VSC work. A whole new, revolutionary way to transfer, invest, leverage, and grow crypto assets is at hand, my friends, so get ready now!
Yesterday, Saturday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive tasks, a little after 2PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts. When I had that done to my satisfaction, I went to chop and dump bad/used coconuts at the upper coco bar, and to tidy up the area a bit. With that done, I spent some time in my nursery behind the Landing, up-potting the last few plants that I had salvaged from my old nursery the day before. I ran out of soil in the process, so I had to go collect another 10 gallons (2 5-gallon buckets) of it to finish with up-potting. The last task of the day was clearing some Cecropia trees that were growing too close to a Durian tree near the Bali Hut. Once that was completed, I took a shower, stopped by the Landing to collect some leftover food and my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, and with those in hand(s), I headed back to the Flow House, to begin my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I got everything done by a bit after 11PM, and after some asset management, and a scan of my X feed, I went to bed by just after 12:30AM. I woke up around 7AM, having thankfully slept well, doing more asset management, going to make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then returning to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 1PM, so it's an excellent time to wrap this up, so that I may get to my other few important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography for my posts, then community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until my Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update tomorrow morning, and the next version of these posts tomorrow afternoon! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
2025 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Play 2024 Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
