I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 7 years now. Things are a bit rough on Hive as of late, with many challenges facing those who are endeavoring to build and grow here, and a seemingly increasing number of obstacles to surmount with every step forward that we attempt to take. The intense, coordinated attacks on Hive-Engine nodes, which made the new transaction rate limits necessary, have also basically made our payouts of layer-2 tokens very hit it miss. Now Hive nodes are under attack as well, which is what caused the lapses in the recent HIVE payouts in the daily ALIVE dividends.
Bjorn had the payout script set to retry failed transactions, but with how intense the attacks on Hive nodes have been, the script kept restarting, over and over again, looping over the first chunk of account, which is what drained all the HIVE on @aliveandthriving yesterday. When Bjorn popped up again, he sent 15 HIVE of his own funds to @aliveandthriving last night, to attempt run the script again, but even before he could run the script, the HIVE was drained yet again, but this time from the Hive nodes trying to catch up on the missed transactions.
The attacks on Hive nodes are making the nodes give failure responses, but without a reason, as if the transactions go into some kind of limbo, with them not being accepted or rejected with a reason, and with the nodes then trying to process the transactions that were in limbo. So it's very difficult to predict what will happen if we transfer more HIVE to @aliveandthriving for the dividend payouts, and given that we've already lost over 37 HIVE from the first payout disaster, and Bjorn lost 15 HIVE of his own funds, I'm in a quandry about what to do about allocating HIVE this week (most of it will come in today and tomorow), as I don't want all of it to be drained by nodes trying to process zombie transactions, and given the fact that most of our HIVE was lost, we no longer have much of any buffer.
Bjorn changed the script so that it will no longer retry failed transactions, so the account looping hopefully won't happen again, but it also means that some accounts will likely miss payouts. So basically, due to the attacks on Hive nodes, our HIVE payouts are apparently now as spotty and hit or miss as our layer-2 payouts, which is frustrating me to no end. It's very difficult to build a functional system of abundance for our ALIVE and 'We Are Alive Tribe' economy when the basic infrastructure does not work as it should.
On a slightly more positive note, Bjorn was able to make the necessary changes to the tipping script for ALIVE to be a dual/symmetrical tipping token, so now both tipper and tippee will receive 0.1 ALIVE for each tip. He was also able to update the payout scripts with larger quantities of HIVE sent out in the daily ALIVE dividends, and in the payouts to HP delegators, as well as the amount of ALIVE sent out to AP delegators, so there will now 15 HIVE sent out for HP delegations, and 15 HIVE sent out in the daily ALIVE dividends, when we can get it working correctly again that is. Getting our payout scripts to work again in the midst of the the present ongoing attacks on Hive and Hive-Engine nodes is quite a bugger indeed, and I apologize to all of you in the We Are Alive for the missed HIVE payouts (well, there were some people that are very happy, I imagine, since they got way more HIVE than they were supposed to receive, due to the account looping). Things really aren't easy at the moment, but I, and we, will just keep doing our best with what we have available, and with the conditions that we face. Fingers crossed!
Yesterday, Wednesday, after finishing up with my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks by around 12PM, I prepared for a session that was scheduled for 1:30PM. The session started a little late, it went well, and we wrapped it up by about 4:30PM, after which I headed to the Landing to collect my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge, then back to the Flow House to begin my evening Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks. I got everything done very early once again, by about 8:30PM, and after some asset management, and uploading more PDF books to Qortal, I went to bed just after 10:30PM. I woke up by around 6AM, having slept well, doing more asset management, going to make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then returning to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 11:45AM, so a very good time to wrap this up, so that I may get to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography for my posts, then on community/land work. 2025 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
