That's so interesting. You're the first individual that I've heard say he prefers 0% APR, but you're right on the derivative nature of HBD. It's basically an IOU for HIVE, so HIVE debt.

That may indeed be accurate, since it caused most HBD to be deposited to Savings, which generated much more virutual HIVE to balance it out. We got into this massive Hive debt that we have now precisely because of how HBD has been used. The thing is too, that if the APR is at 10% or lower, then most people would simply withdraw it and either sell it or power it up. I know that I'd power it up. Another unpleasant aspect about HBD is that since it is pegged to the price of the US Dollar, which because it's a fiat currency it's always losing value over time, so that would suggest that HIVE's own value is also decreasing over time, but that we don't notice it because we measure it by HBD. I don't at all like the idea of HBD being pegged to a fiat currency.
