RE: #Wednesday Walk - Along Molweni Trail Toward the Gillits Waterfall.

in Wednesday Walk2 years ago

Oh my goodness! Yes, I wouldn't be walking there if I knew that bears were walking freely in the same area either.

There is some wildlife where we walked, but not dangerous animals. We read in yesterday's newspaper about a family who walked a trail in the same area where we were, and they reported ( and shared a photo in the newspaper) how they encountered a caracal (type of wild cat) on their walk. Apparently, it came closer to them and they just stood still. It then turned around and walked away. According to a spokesperson from the conservancy, caracals have not been known to harm humans but recommended that you stand still and just allow the animal to move on to prevent any potential hazard.

Thank you for stopping by and for your feedback, @erikah! I do appreciate it!

Knowing what to do when you encounter a wild animal is crucial. However some animals are more dangerous than others, so it's better to stay away:)

Absolutely true! I do agree with you 100%!
