Walking along the streets and inside our local market is funny. I went to our main city market to survey how costly and cheap goods and edibles are this time. The name of the Market is Enyimba international market Aba popularly known as Ahia Ohuru
Reaching there, the first thing that captured my eyes is this beautiful glowing vegetable known as pepper. It is one of the cheapest in town this days. Other items are very costly and expensive. Whole inside the market, i had a second thought. It seems like i will be adding more than enough pepper inside all the meals am preparing this days since i have foodies in the house. Why? At least, someone that eats 2 cups of rice can now eat only but 1 because he or she will fill his or her stomach with water as a result of the hot pepper. 🤣🤣

As i continued with my survey, i found out that although now is the season of yam, yet, it is very expensive and the most annoying part is that all the yam in the market are as tiny as. Have a view of what am saying.

Hope we will not look like the yam after eating it 😂!!!
As i progressed with my walk, i saw another thing that made me to appreciate our people the more. Do you know that in most cities, you hardly see markets where you can easily obtain this natural items including herbs. God really blessed us.

A friend told me that plantain is very cheap in this market. Therefore, i walked down to where i can get it so cheap. Reaching there, look and behold, plantain is very cheap here just as she informed me. I will revisit the market by friday to obtain some for my personal use.

Tomato 🍅 is another thing i can testify to how cheap it is when compared to how it was months ago. Many of us quited using tomatoes in our meals. Imstead, we do use red pepper. But giving it a second thought threw me into amazement. Yea, Christmas is around the corner, so is tomato not suppose to be costly? Anyways, thank God for that.

Another thing i saw in that market that captured my fancy is onions. I must revisit the market as i mentioned earlier in other to purchase enough onions that will lead me throughout this year. I must make sure to buy enough onions that will even cover this month and January. I have make this plan because of my past experiences during Christmas time like this. It is not always easy for us to see enough onions to cook with. Therefore, if i should purchase enough for my family now, even if onions want to travel, I can't feel it.

The last thing i checked on is garri. Garri is our main food here. Many people can't get satisfied after eating rice without consuming garri. While some can't survive in a day without tasting garri irrespective of how the soup is. The type of garri presently at the market now are isikwuato garri and Enugu garri. Personally, i prefer isikwuato to Enugu.

It took me hours before i could finish touring round the market. But this walk have given me the opportunity of knowing what is on board so as to shape my pocket in other to save more to purchse the necessary at the right time.
Thanks for checking on my blog.
