Yes, indeed, they are. Minting accounts have levels, each one taking longer to reach, and (usually) paying more QORT during each payout (which happens once per day). You can't buy your way to power on Qortal. πππβ¨π€

It doesn't take a lot of computer resources, especially with the recent core releases and the new UI. Actually there is a task-bar icon that let's me see how it's doing. I also keep the UI open, so I check things several times per day. πππβ¨π€
