The Anime Realm does a monthly challenge to encourage good work regarding the world of Anime/Manga/Life etc, and this month one of the challenges is to write a post about an 'Anime you would recommend to watch with your partner'.
Now I have covered this film before, but dayum, I couldn't not recommend this, especially because it is an evil recommendation 😁
Perfect Blue is about Mima Kirigoe, a former member of the J-Pop idol group CHAM!. Mima decided to leave the group to pursue her career in acting. It was a contentious decision with regards to her fan base, some were less than happy with this change of direction by Mima.
Mima decided to dive head first into the world of acting, joining a gritty drama series. Picking up an obsessed fan who cannot accept the fact that Mima is no longer the innocent J-Pop Idol that they adored. The fan starts stalking Mima, alongside a website appearing that goes into her life in a very detailed way.
Then with CHAM! appearing to be going from strength to strength since Mima's departure, it all puts a heavy strain on Mima.
This strain causes her to struggle to differentiate between what is real and what is fantasy.
The reason that I would recommend this awesome movie is that it will introduce them to what Anime can really achieve in film.
The whole film is a stunning work of art, the plot is very well done and the soundtrack is brilliant. Everything fits into place so well.
A warning though, it is not a nice film, it is gritty and may make some people uncomfortable. If your partner can get through this and enjoy the art of it, then you have found a winner!

Our main characters could be working in an office, a cafe, a restaurant or anything similar. As long as the anime emphasizes that they're working adults, or part timers, as long as they're in the working sector.
This should be separate from #1 and #3.
- Write at least 1 post of an anime movie that you would recommend to watch with your partner
Recommend an anime movie to watch with your partner. Your partner could be a non-watcher so think of an anime that you could enjoy watching together. Or your partner could be a fan of anime already so think of something that would spice up your movie night. If you don't have a partner, just imagine if you have one - or who knows in the future, you might have one.
This should be separate from #1 and #2.
- Participate in at least 3 small events
