As winter approaches in my region, I dwell on things to come. I'm conflicted on the change in time and weather. A break from the blistering summer is welcomed. However, the dread of cold intimidates me. My body is in a constant state of frigidity all year. So when winter arrives, I'm confronted with an extra layer of coldness that chills me to the bone. Part of the problem is my Type 2 Diabetes.
While pondering the concept of time. By abiding by this concept of a finite and measurable distance, have we as a society become more efficient in the use of our resources? Dividing chunks of space. Combining elements that forge seasons together where one can't tell when a change occurs.
I remember when young, our winter months would be covered in snow. Not the heaping tons in the upper states from east to west, but chilling enough for us Southerners to experience a bout of snow that covered the landscape and stayed for more than a few hours.
During those times, I'd snuggle up under a warm blanket and grab a good read, some hot tea and admire the sights and sounds of those brave enough to mingle with the weather. Inevitably, because we weren't accustomed to the wet weather, illnesses spread throughout households.

For my current mixed media art project, I wanted to reflect on the winter season. I sit here now with chills dwelling on the cold weather forecast.
To depict this, I selected three stable diffusion images I'd previously retrieved from StarryAI and Night Cafe. A fantasy female nestled in the mountains. A rugged mountain capped in snow. A clock inside a frame to represent time drifting away.
I also included one of my attempts to draw a black and white landscape feature in Krea and one of my pure fractals designed by me in Apophysis 7X, the advanced fractal rendering program.

I utilized Canva, my design program, to blend the different type images which began with a blank, white canvas. I then added layers of elements.
