The world have gone digital. We can now buy and sell things right from the comfort of our homes. We can attend lectures, worship and even work from home. That's the world we now find ourselves in.
Technology has made life much more easier for everyone. Phones, laptops and the Internet have revolutionalised our ways of doing things. Life has become very easy unlike years or decades past.
But all that glitters is not really gold. With these innovations and the comfort they afford, comes its bad sides. Hybrid and hitherto unknown crimes have now surfaced thereby throwing those who cannot discern a simple phishing link from the safe ones.
That was the mess Derby found herself in some days ago. A job advert was made using a phishing link with which its creator used to freely harvest vital information from the unsuspecting applicants. Derby was not careful enough and before her friend Agnes could send to her that saving cautious warning of "don't click that link!", the damage had been done already.
Derby on her own supplied the scammer with vital info with which he used to make orders on some shopping 🛒 🛍️ apps and successfully made payments
This is my entry for the day's @daily.prompt: Don't Click That Link!
