James had expected the rain to fall last night so as to water his plants in the farm; that did not happen even though that weather was very cloudy. He was not alone in this expectation. Many farmers are literally begging the almighty for the rains as their newly planted crops have started showing signs of withering.

The next morning, James woke up quite early and started observing the clouds. He anticipated to see those silver lining clouds that preempts rainfall. He watches it closely but could not see any. Just as he was about to depart he saw some fine linings elsewhere on the clouds. He was rattled. That's it! He almost leapt for joy. Slowly he went back to his compound. Surely it is going to rain today, he told himself.

Around noon same day, the clouds began to gather and soon it became very thick and windy at the same time. Before you know it heavy drops of water began to fall - on people and buildings. In a matter of minutes the rain began to fall. Everyone knows that it's going to be a heavy downpour and it turned out to be so. It rained for over two hours, non-stop. Banks of rivers got overflowed, the gutters same. There was massive flooding everywhere.

James who had gone to his farm situate across the river banks could not sail safely home. Most dangerous sea animals were washed ashore and coming home in that situation was like ferrying across the river of death. James, with the help of other stranded farmers and fishermen managed to make the dangerous journey across the river and safely to the other side of the water.
