Claudia has passion for basketball. When she was enrolled into the École Lé Mérridién she quickly joined the female basketball team. For years her school basketball team have not won any laurels. She vowed to change that narrative.
In her class three, she was apart of the team that got to the State elimination championship wherein they narrowly missed and came third this failing to qualify to represent their state at the national stage.
Now in her penultimate class, Claudia became the team's captain. She resolved to get that elusive laurel for her school. They trained harder and improved on the mistakes of the past.
And like a thunder,.they took their games seriously dispatching opponents that came their way with reckless abandon. They qualified for the State elimination championship without suffering a defeat. In those elimination games they came tops. That was their first laurel. Claudia smiled.
With that win, they became the champions and first representative of their State at the national level. The runners up was the second. Claudia and her teammates gave a good account of themselves and got to the finals at the national level.
Hopes and expectations became high as they were about to become the national basketball champion, a feat her school basketball team have never attained.
Their final game was against the reigning champions of the championship. Claudia and her teammates took days to learn how their opponent usually launch an attack and devised good means of cutting them off.
As the game began, it was full of anxiety and suspense but as God may have it, Claudia and her teammates neutralized all the moves made by their opponent. At the sound of the whistle Claudia and her and her teammates won convincingly and were accordingly declared the winners - the national basketball champions.
This is my entry for the day's @daily.prompt: Full Of Anxiety
