Diego has been the storekeeper of Ghanzi Holdings for over a decade now. Throughout this space of time there has not been any incident of stealing or missing products or machines from the store. That feat usually earns Diego the best staff award of the month for years. In fact, it became a common knowledge that whenever the award is to be made everyone already knows who will take it.
But the unexpected pandemic came and the world economy was shaken to its marrow. Ghanzi Holdings was not an exception as it suffered severely which affected its income. Many were laid off but Diego was not affected.
Salary payments were also delayed as it no longer come as a when due. It is usually paid on the 28th of every month but these days it usually dovetail into the next month.
Diego's son had a health issue which made him to be admitted. Diego needed to make some deposit before the son can be attended to. He had no cash on him. If he doesn't act on time the son may die as a result lack of medical care.
As a last minute resort Diego decided to tamper with some agricultural products kept under his care so as to raise some cash for the son's medical bills. He quickly went to the hospital and made the deposit. The next day he was paid by Ghanzi Holdings. It became clear to him that there was no sense in tampering with the materials kept under his care in the first place. But the son's life mattered most to him too.
Fortunately for him there was no audit for that month as they felt all was well, as usual. Diego survived.
