Charles has been farming maize on a land Jude pledged to him for three years now. Every harvest season he records low yield whereas his neighbours usually record high an bountiful harvest. The second year of his farming on the land he went for improved variety and when harvest time came it was also the same old story - poor yeild.
This farming season, Charles has vowed that the downward trend must stop. So he decided to pay a visit to Rex who has a farm next to his. When he told Rex his ordeal, his friend simply smiled and told him to relax. Things will change for food now that he has spoken up.
Charles was a bit surprised to see his friend talk lightly about his problems. Rex went into his barn and came.out with a bunch of dried maize and handed them over to Charles.
"Take these, soak them in water for twenty-four hours and then plant them the next day", Rex said.
"Thank you friend. Let me see how things will turn out this time around".
"One more thing, don't make mounds and plant, just scatter most of them. Scatter the seeds and you'll see wonders", a smiling Rex concluded.
"Oh, I see. Man, I've got to try that as soon as possible", Charles opined as he heads towards the exit door.
That night Charles did as he was directed by Rex and after twenty-four hours he went straight to his farm and scattered the seeds.
After three days he came back and saw how the maize were growing. Some could not germinate while most of them who did look nourished and in need of first wedding.
After a fortnight, Charles mobilized his workers to weed the farm and add more manure to the maize. He is well convinced now that he will have a bountiful yield this year.
This is my entry for the today @daily.prompt: Scatter The Seed
