“El Profe” es una película mexicana de 1971 dirigida por Miguel M. Delgado y protagonizada por Mario Moreno (Cantinflas), Marga López y Víctor Alcocer como villano principal. Ésta es la primera película del comediante ambientada en los años 1970 y la única protagonizada por actores infantiles y juveniles, aunque ya se había presentado algo similar y en menor medida en “El Analfabeto” (1961).
La escena que más nostalgia me causa (a partir del minuto 1:26:35) y me dan ganas de llorar, así la vea 100 veces más, es cuando uno de sus alumnos, Fermín, le avisa que la escuela que habían instalado en el bosque está en llamas. Sócrates (Cantinflas) y Hortensia (Marga López) se dirigen al lugar, pero llegan demasiado tarde.
Don Zenaido (Víctor Alcocer), quien es el responsable del incendio, se da cuenta de que su intento por correr al profesor del pueblo ha sido en vano, pues sus estudiantes siguen acudiendo a clases aunque ya no tengan una escuela improvisada.
La primera vez que ví la película en los ‘90, estaba en casa acompañada de mi papá. Es una de mis favoritas, pues esa escena en particular marcó mi vida profesional, pues afianzó más mi amor por ser Docente.
Hoy en día, considero que la profesión Docente es el mayor don que podemos tener en la sociedad. Lamentablemente, aún existen personas que consideran que la educación no es necesaria, porque el saber, da poder.
Al final, el Profesor Sócrates logra conseguir que el gobernador del pueblo le haga su escuela, logra su cometido con la educación de los niños y el amor de Hortensia, que se vuelven pareja.
Les recomiendo ver está fabulosa película que dentro de las ocurrencias y la forma tan particular de la actuación de Cantinflas nos brinda una gran reflexión.

“The Profe” is a 1971 Mexican film directed by Miguel M. Delgado and starring Mario Moreno (Cantinflas), Marga López and Víctor Alcocer as the main villain. This is the comedian's first film set in the 1970s and the only one starring child and youth actors, although something similar had already been presented and to a lesser extent in “El Ilalfabeto” (1961).
The scene that makes me most nostalgic (starting at minute 1:26:35) and makes me want to cry, even if I see it 100 more times, is when one of his students, Fermín, tells him that the school they had set up in the forest is on fire. Sócrates (Cantinflas) and Hortensia (Marga López) head to the place, but arrive too late.
Don Zenaido (Víctor Alcocer), who is responsible for the fire, realizes that his attempt to chase away the town's teacher has been in vain, since his students continue to go to classes even though they no longer have an improvised school.
The first time I saw the movie in the '90s, I was at home with my dad. It is one of my favorites, because that particular scene marked my professional life, as it further strengthened my love for being a Teacher.
Today, I consider that the Teaching profession is the greatest gift we can have in society. Unfortunately, there are still people who consider that education is not necessary, because knowledge gives power.
In the end, Professor Socrates manages to get the town governor to build his school for him, he achieves his goal with the education of the children and the love of Hortensia, who become a couple.
I recommend you watch this fabulous film that, within the occurrences and the very particular form of Cantinflas' performance, gives us great reflection.
