This morning, I sat on the riverbank, enjoying the serene atmosphere. A gentle breeze blew from the water, carrying the distinctive scent of the densely growing coconut trees across the river. The water's surface seemed to reflect a light blue sky with a few clouds drifting gently by. There was no traffic noise, only the sound of birdsong and the occasional ripple of fish floating on the surface.
From where I sat, I could see a row of small blue rafts floating neatly on the river. They looked like fish farms, perhaps tilapia or catfish. Everything looked so orderly and peaceful, creating a harmony between nature and human life. To my right, an old wooden building stood over the water, some of its pillars covered in moss, but that was precisely what lent it a nostalgic feel as if it held a long story of the past.
On the wooden terrace where I sat, there were rows of empty tables. Someone at the far end was probably enjoying a cup of coffee while gazing out at the gently flowing water. I imagined how wonderful it would be to live by a river like this seeing the reflection of the sky every day, hearing the trickling water, and being at one with the calming silence.
This place made me think about the meaning of serenity. How often we chase so many things in life, when perhaps what we really need is just a moment like this sitting still, listening to nature speak, and letting ourselves drift in simple peace. Nature has its own way of calming the soul, reminding us that life doesn't always have to be rushed.
Perhaps this river isn't just a stream. It's a journey of time flowing, carrying stories, memories, and hopes, constantly moving toward the open sea. Like life, it can't stop, but we can enjoy every second if we take the time to simply observe and experience it.
