It felt incredibly hot this afternoon, the sun standing mercilessly overhead. The yard seemed deserted, only the shadows of the trees moving slowly in the light. The air felt heavy, as if slowing down every step and thought.
I chose to sit in the hut, seeking some shade from the stifling heat. There, the atmosphere felt different. Not entirely cool, but enough to relax my body. A breeze came occasionally, bringing short, soothing breaths.
In my hand, a cup of warm coffee was my constant companion. Strangely, even in the heat, coffee still tasted delicious. Perhaps it wasn't about the heat or cold, but about the habit and comfort that had become ingrained.
I looked out at the vast yard, noticing every corner that seemed still. There wasn't much activity, no bustling noise. Only silence accompanied me, providing space for thought or even just to let my mind go blank.
Time passed imperceptibly. In the silence, there was a sense of sufficiency that was hard to describe. Nothing special, but nothing lacking either.
Perhaps it's true, not every moment has to be busy to feel meaningful. Sometimes, sitting alone in the heat while enjoying coffee is more than enough.
