Silence After Rain in the Garden

Being in the middle of this garden creates a calming atmosphere. The scent of wet soil after rain mingles with the scent of green leaves still dripping with water, making the air feel fresh and humid. Coconut and areca nut trees stand strong, some of them looking old with mossy bark. The ropes hanging between them seem to bear the traces of old games perhaps they once served as simple swings that elicited laughter from village children.

The muddy ground and fallen leaves signify a life that continues to move in simplicity. Each fallen leaf becomes humus, nourishing the tiny roots growing silently beneath the surface. Among the dense trees, sunlight tries to penetrate, creating a golden glow between the large, water-caked banana leaves.

This place feels like a silent witness to the passage of time. Perhaps once this area was a family gathering place, where parents shared stories or weeded the garden together. Now, only the sounds of insects and the pattering rain speak, reminding us that nature always has a way of soothing the human heart.

I stand for a moment, observing this silence, feeling how nature conveys a message without words. There's a peace that can't be found anywhere else only here, beneath the shade of the trees, amidst the lingering raindrops that still drip slowly from the leaves to the ground. Every dewdrop, every bird call, seems to teach us that life doesn't always have to be rushed. Sometimes, it's enough to pause and enjoy the simple beauty we often overlook.
