You can pick up a hard drive for around $20, but the rest of the hardware is probably so obsolete it won't run anything but Linux. Not that that's a bad thing. I like Debian derivative distributions, but it's not for everyone.

I have a lot of old hard drives and other parts but I do not need to use the old computers, I do not understand why I want to hold on to them but sometimes it is not up to me to question myself. lol

There are people who want retro hardware. Like old cars, there is a chance some parts may gain value in the next several years. Or maybe it's all e-waste only worth a few bucks at the scrapyard.

either way I will hold on to them.
