Your stories always present me with a character that stands out and Simone is no exception. The ballroom setting is vivid and you build the tension with an intensity that has me anticipating the fallout. I like how composed she is through it all, making her exit powerful. Though I'm curious about the breaking news. I guess it means there's no hiding place for Jeffery anymore.

        Yes, Simone leaked the info to the press and perhaps stipulated the time to break the news as Jeffrey was about to give his benevolent speech. I believe he was going to attempt to pin it on her. He was a character with all his skeletons.
