I am not always decisive on what I need to cut back after a freeze, but once I got started, I knew I was doing the right thing. I had to cut some of the hardwood plants back because the softwood plants, like the yellow alamanda and a yellow butterfly vine, had grown all over and through them.
I am still shocked that this tree is still green. It is a catlyn guava, and guavas are not cold tolerant, it is a true mystery to both of us.
I have worked on the front of our home for three days. I still have the west end to do. I had to take a break today. I am hurting from overdoing things. If I sit on my little stool to cut them back, my knee starts to hurt. If I sit in a chair and bend, my back hurts. It is a damned if I do and damned if I don't sort of thing.
I had to cut my shampoo ginger back to the ground because of mold and rot, but I am sure it will come back....
My husband went to the cheap store today. He bought two cases of stemmed cherries for 2.99 a case, my sister loves them like I do, I can't wait to show her! also to give her a few bags.
They had cases of wheat rolls for free. We cooked some tonight, and they are really good.
He also got two cases of barbecue potato chips for free. He bought some other things, too. But I forgot what he got other than two honeydew melons and a case of Diet Pepsi and Mountain Dew.
