He was always there, with his little setup, a cow skull hanging on an old pole, and a sign that said cowboy coffee. He was not a fashionable cowboy but he was up for giving you a good long chat and a strong cup of Joe. He was a friend to whoever graced a stool at his tent.
Years have gone by with no Cowboy at the events and even though some will remember him, a few will never know the deep conversations that could be held across an old board used for a table and a stiff cup of coffee.
Cowboy got to know hundreds of people, and he used to live in Ashville NC. Because of these two things, he has been spending every waking hour trying to help organize rescue and relief efforts for the Ashville area.
He will not rest until everyone has the help they need. You have to not focus on things like this 24/7 there has to be a break in it for yourself, just to relax your mind. All the heart wrenching stories will eventually get to you. So Cowboy, if you read this, take it easy on yourself, you are doing a great job, one that someone else can take over for an hour or two a day. Rest your mind.
