This is my post for #freewriters 2808 prompt shock him! hosted by @mariannewest

A while back my sister brought me five ackee trees from under her friend's bigger ackee trees in his yard. They were about 8 or 9 inches tall. I put them all in one gallon pots and after a few months, I stepped up 3 of them up to 3 gallon and now into 7 gallon pots, they are growing at the same rate.

With these two, I had put one in a 3 gallon pot and left the other in the original one gallon pot. The one I left in the 3 gallon, I put in a 7-gallon, but the one gallon plant I only stepped it up to a 3 gallon pot.

The ackee in the other 7 gallon pot on the right is shorter than the three I did by stepping them up when they needed it, they are to the left.

The one one the right and the one in front show how giving them the right pot size is important for their growth and how leaving them in too small of a pot will shock him! or stunt his growth.`

I had to put five of my pineapples out back, where I am afraid of predators getting them, so I covered the fruit with gutter guard. I was not sure if anything would get them back there, but I wanted to be safe.

I am glad I did this because my husband has decided that it is also a good place for him to dump all of the guavas that the fruit flies have laid eggs in. He says if the animals eat the fruit with the larvae in it, there won't be as many fruit flies to hatch next year.

I doubt if it would shock him! if I told him I am trying to keep predators away from my pineapple fruit, and here he is, attracting them to the area. But since the pineapples are covered, I will say nothing.

You have a point. Putting plants in the right pots give them room to flourish. Your plants are doing well too. Love the way you covered the pineapple 🍍

Thank you.
I hope the gutter guard will protect the pineapples.

Yeah, I hope so too.
