This is my post for #freewriters 2815 prompt mature cheese hosted by @mariannewest
We had our granddaughter's dog for close to four years, but now she is back with her. The first thing to happen was when my granddaughter came home from work, the dog got so excited and jumped around, and ended up beating her tail on the door frame. She broke her tail and had to have it cut off. In this picture, she had a habit of getting out of the fence, but all she would do was go around to the front gate and wait for us to let her in.
This dog misses the other one, but since she left this one has taken up with my husband. She wants to be near him, always, and whines when he goes outside and she is left in the house. She has put on a lot of weight. Have you ever seen those wheels of mature cheese? She is a cheese wheel with a head and tail.
When my husband came home from camping, I told him his buddy missed him. He said she is not my buddy, Bear was my buddy, she is my friend.
This is Bear. We had him for 12 short years, he was my husband's buddy. And he was the dog that, when he died, I was told to never get another dog. We are dog people, and even though the others do not belong to us, I still care for them as they do, and it still hurts when they leave.
