This is my post for #freewriters 2828 prompt accompany the lady hosted by @mariannewst
Today is my birthday, and my sister asked what I wanted to do. I told her I wanted to go to the bridge and look for pottery and fossils. But someone told her they found big shark's teeth on the shoreline next to the Grant Historical house, so she wanted to go there. I had no choice but to accompany the lady since she was doing the driving. I did not believe that was where they were found. There are no shells or rocks; it is all sand shoreline.
I love the house but it was closed. This is what I remember houses looking like. I found out that porches had a use, they were not just a place to sit, they kept the house cool.
This is the man who built the house.
The historical society planted this tree in his honor.
My daughter and niece came with us, and with four of us looking, we never found a shark tooth. It was time to get my sister's granddaughter from the bus stop, so we had to leave.
After getting her granddaughter from the bus stop, we went to the bridge.
Her granddaughter swam while we walked the shoreline, she followed.
As soon as I got to where there were shells and rocks, I found a nice sized piece of pottery. I did not find a lot of pottery, but the tide was high and the wind was blowing, making it hard to see.
Then I found a nice piece of turtle shell. I do not remember finding it with circles on the shell. I wonder what kind of turtle it was.
I am not sure about this, but I think it is the mouthplate from a drum, I am not sure if it was a black drum or red drum, aka, redfish.
My husband did not fish today, he is going to try and go tomorrow, if he can get bait.
