This is my post for #freewriters 2918 prompt figure it out hosted by @mariannewest

The photo is what we call Florida snow, it was cold enough this morning and all day to have real snow.

When my husband woke this morning, he checked the temperature at the airport near our house. He tells me it is 39.2°F. I said damn, 39, that is colder than they said it was going to be. He adds in with 39.2. I tell him to stop trying to make it warmer with the .2. I would bet we set a record for coldest temperature for this date. We were in the 70s yesterday morning, and it got colder as the day went on.

I was telling my husband, this was a strange cold front. Not only did we get cold this early in the year, but there was no rain ahead of the front, and I was trying to figure it out. He told me it has happened before, but not often. I guess it is one of those things I can't remember.

We did not have any frost, but now I am worried about my young mahogany tree, the internet says they can survive temperatures down to 45°F. I bought it when it was a foot tall, now it is over 6. If it survives, I will need to figure out what to do with it for the winter. Mature planted trees can survive down to mid-30s°F. It looks sad. I hope it makes it.

My sister is on her way to pick up our niece. I pray she has safe travels and no problems. The girls do not have school today, so they are with her. After she picks up our niece, she has to drive another hour north to pick up her belongings, then drive 4 hours home. She thinks she will be home around 6 tonight, I think it will be later, so I told her, let's not go fishing tomorrow. She said she will see how she feels. The last I looked, tomorrow is the only day we can fish this week, but that can always change.
