This is my post for #freewriters 2928 prompt deserve hosted by @mariannewest
My motor started on the first try this morning. It was the starter going out this entire time. After all of the motor trouble we had, I won't say we deserve to catch fish, I will say it was nice that we did.
This morning, my sister called and said a train was stopped and she was stuck in traffic. So we got a later start than we wanted. My husband said the train was stopped when he left, so he took the long way to the boat ramp. My sister was on the other side of the tracks.
We went to Blackpoint, where my husband caught fish yesterday, he was there, but the fish weren't. He said he was going to Pelican Island and I told him I was going to the inlet.
At the inlet, we skipped a pompano and anchored. I saw boats on the north bar and told my sister that is where the fish are at. My husband did not find anything at Pelican Island and showed up at the inlet. He anchored on middle bank, but soon left for the north bar.
It was not long and I got a text from him saying, get here now. We pulled our lines in and when we got close enough I could see my husband put a double pompano in the boat. I looked at two other boats and they each were putting pompano in their boats. We anchored near my husband and did not catch anything.
I told my sister, let's reel in and move somewhere else. We wandered around and since I saw nothing I decided to anchor on the west side of the bar. It was not long and we had one, then they bit as fast as my sister could get a rod out. She was huffing and puffing, going from rod to rod.
One time she thought the fish was on one pole so she reeled it in and came to the line of one of the other rods, and a fish was on it. We had to get the hooks out of tangled mess before we could reel in the rod with the fish. After getting everything clear, she reeled it in and had a double pompano on it. I do not know how both of them did not get off.

The next double she got, I do not know how she was lucky enough to get them.

As soon as she lifted them in the boat, the line broke about six inches from the swivel.
We ended up catching 30 pounds, my husband had 31 pounds, so we are happy with what we caught.
