Good morning all, doing my 5 minutes free writing with prompt - Positive (or not). Hope you enjoy the story.
Is a word that is supposedly representative of "good" always brings you good news? Today's prompt allows us to examine this briefly and I will look at it from 2 approaches for being positive.
Firstly, from the approach of mindset and staying encourage or when we encourage others, staying positive or being positive is definitely a good thing. It allows us to continue to work hard for the results we strive for in a competition. If we are not on that trajectory, staying positive keeps us determine and not to go down without a fight.
But in the same setting of a competition, how can positive go bad, one might asked. This can happen if we are talking about test results, if the champion's urine result came back positive for presence of banned substance then being positive is bad. Medical test results is one instance where everyone dread the presence of undesirable item in the body, thus in such a setting, negative becomes the norm and what everyone seeks.
Thus, above 2 scenarios of the usage of the same word meant a world apart, thus context and setting would become relevant and important. Can you share with me another occasion or quote another similar?
