LIKE A TALE FROM THE FAIRY TALES. A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

in Freewritersyesterday

I see a picture that looks like an illustration in a fairy tale book.

I think that it is a picture meant to make children happy.

As I looked at it, I remembered that we once had a copy of an interesting storybook which grandpa bought for us so that we could entertain ourselves during the season we visited with him on vacation. It was a fairy tale storybook. As children we had fun reading through it. I had wished that we wouldn't go home again because I didn't want to miss the interesting fiction stories that filled up the storybook. Those were days we cherished much as little children.

Ah, grandpa was such a caring person. He cared for the feelings of the children even more than our father. Did daddy even have the time to think of such things? No, he didn't! Please, don't quote me wrong. Talk about all the basic requirements at home, daddy was up to the task. Providing feeding money? He was always up to the task. Is it paying school fees? We won't need to wait for a fee drive because we were among the first set of children to pay their school fees at the beginning of every term. Everything someone would consider as a statutory responsibility of a father, our daddy was always ready for it.

But daddy didn't fancy children playing around and having fun when he's around. He had never bought us a toy or storybook. He cared little about our feelings. Living with daddy sometimes felt boring. But God bless the soul of our grandpa. He always had the children in mind. He wouldn't come back without buying us biscuits or candies. He took pleasure in our happiness and excitement. Oh, how I missed grandpa!😊🥰🙏
