I would like to wish you all a happy weekend my dear Freewriters!

This is my entry to the Writing Prompt by @mariannewest for 12 June 2026, Freewriters Community Daily Writing Prompt Day 3132: buffet for one.

The man was eating and drinking non-stop for God knows how long now.

Diners around him and serving staff had lost count of how many hours he had been seating alone on that table, before he had to loosen his belt, otherwise he would face the risk of passing away from too much food.

Was it two or three hours?

Who knows…

His appetite seemed to be gargantuan, to say the least, although you wouldn’t call him obese at first glance.

“Where does he put all this food?”, a man asked his wife quietly, not to be heard by other people who were eating around and who were also gobsmacked by the insatiable greed and fathomless appetite of that unbelievable man.

And as if this was not enough, he nodded to the poor waiter who was struggling to keep up with the man’s pace.

“Excuse me, waiter, can I order a buffet for one, please?”.

The waiter’s jaw hit the floor, literally!
