Visiting Italy has always been very high on my travel bucket list, but this I HAVE TO SEE! How morbidly fascinating and beautiful? As you say, a reminder, that underneath it all.. our beliefs, our race, our economical standing or class, we are all the same inside. Quite literally. The artwork created is absolutely breathtaking. One has to look twice to recall that these were all fashioned out of human remains. I suppose it would have been a deep honor to the monks to be a part of something so special, and in their own way, immortalized. Truly beautiful art. Thank you for sharing!
