Greetings of the day,
When I reached the Neelkanth Dham Swaminarayan Temple in Poicha, the first thing I fela sense of t was peace. This silence was not just due to the lack of sounds, but there was something in the atmosphere that automatically slowed down the mind. While walking along the banks of river Narmada on the way, it seemed as if the hustle and bustle of the city was left far behind. The pace of time changes after reaching here.

As soon as you step into the temple complex, the first thing that attracts your attention is its vastness. This complex spread all around does not seem to be just a religious place, but a place where architecture, faith, and nature all three exist together. It was evening time, and the lights were slowly starting to come on. The colorful lights on the peaks of the temple combined with the light blue color of the sky were creating a different scene.

I just stood there looking around for a while. People had come with their families, some were sitting quietly, while some were taking pictures on their mobiles. But there was a balance between all this. Despite the crowd, there was no chaos. Everyone was experiencing this place in their own way.
The design of the temple has been done very minutely. The carvings on the stones, the expressions on the faces of the statues, and the cleanliness seen in every detail show that it was not only made, but also maintained. When I got closer and looked at the sculptures, it felt as if each figure was part of a story.
The environment of Neelkanth Dham gives a completely different experience during day and night. During the day, this place seems calm and peaceful, whereas by evening, a festive atmosphere is created here. The decoration of lights makes the temple even more lively. When the peaks shine with light, it seems as if the entire place is standing in front of you like a picture.
I spent a long time walking around the temple complex. There are seating areas at some places, where people can stop and rest for a few moments. Some people were sitting in meditation, some children were running in the open field. Seeing all this it seemed that this place was made not only for worship but also to give peace to the mind.
The greenery and cleanliness around the temple also attract attention. The plants, pathways, and open spaces are arranged in such a way that there is no clutter anywhere. The presence of Narmada River makes this place even more special. Standing near the river and seeing the flowing water is a different experience in itself.
While staying here I realized that this place does not keep anyone in a hurry. If you want, you can just sit and watch the sky, or walk slowly and look at every corner. There is no pressure, no rush. Perhaps this is the reason why after coming here the mind automatically starts becoming calm.
When the darkness completely subsided and the temple was completely bathed in light, the view became even more impressive. The peaks bathed in colorful lights, the light glow of the water in front, and the people standing around – everything together was creating an atmosphere which is difficult to describe completely in words.
I took pictures many times, but every time I felt that the pictures were not able to fully capture the feeling that I felt while standing in front. There are some places which are better to be preserved in the mind than through the camera.
While returning from Neelkanth Dham, my mind was a little heavy and also light. Heavy because it is not easy to leave such a place, and light because the time spent here had left peace somewhere within. This journey was not limited to seeing just one place, but became an experience.
If one is looking for peace, beauty and to connect with oneself for a short time, this place will not disappoint him/her. Coming here one realizes that sometimes traveling does not mean going far, but going inward.
