My dear world travelers, I greet you and hope that everything is going well in your lives.
When people ask me, “What's there in La Guaira?” Well, there's everything! Every time I visit that place, I realize that they innovate and create spaces for everyone to enjoy.
The Galería de Artes Unidos is a space that everyone is talking about because of the amount of art they have managed to collect and display to the public in such a short time.
It is located in the historic center of La Guaira, and getting there is very easy because you just walk down its cobblestone street and you will find a small sign that says “Casa Fleury” and another that is significant and colorful, made by its artists. I looked for information on why it has that name, but I couldn't find anything, so I'll have to go back and ask 😎:

Cuando me preguntan ¿Qué tanto hay en La Guaira? Pues allí ¡Hay de todo! Cada vez que visito ese sitio, me doy cuenta de que innovan y crean espacios para el disfrute de todos.
La Galería de Artes Unidos, es un espacio que está en boca de todos, por la cantidad de arte que en poco tiempo han logrado reunir y mostrar al público.
Se encuentra ubicada en el casco histórico de la Guaira y llegar allí es muy fácil porque solo caminas por su calle empedrada y te encontrarás con este cartel pequeño que indica "Casa Fleury", y con otro que es significativo y colorido realizado por sus artistas. Busqué si había información de por qué ese nombre, pero no encontré; razón para volver y preguntar 😎:
Once inside, the atmosphere is as festive as everything else in La Guaira; people chatting, service is almost immediate because the artists themselves ask you where you are from, invite you to other shows that are taking place in the area, and if you accept, they themselves take you to enjoy them.

Una vez adentro, el ambiente es tan festivo como todo en La Guaira; personas conversando, la atención es casi que inmediata porque los mismos artistas te preguntan de dónde somos, te invitan a otros espectáculos que se están llevando en la zona y si aceptas, ellos mismos te llevan a disfrutarlos.
The wall I liked the most was this one at the beginning because it has so many works by painters using different techniques, from the most traditional to the most modern, with drawings or inspirations that you can identify with according to your tastes. It seems like a wall made for psychological purposes, as in “depending on what you like, that's what your life is like.” 😆 Among my favorites were:

La pared que más me gustó fue esta del inicio porque tiene ¡Muchísimas obras! de pintores en diferentes técnicas, desde las más tradicionales hasta las más modernas y con dibujos o inspiraciones que te puedes identificar según tus gustos; pareciera una pared hecha con fines psicológicos, al cómo "dependiendo de lo que te guste, así es tu vida" 😆. Entre mis favoritos estuvieron:
The raised ones, because if I remember correctly, I was able to work with this type of paint in a class at my school. It combines paint with materials such as fabric scraps, and it turned out very nicely.

Los de relieve, porque si mal no recuerdo, en alguna materia de mi escuela pude trabajar con este tipo de pintura. Es combinar la pintura con materiales como retazos de tela, quedó muy bonito.
I found this one super modern and youthful, perfect for hanging on a wall and reminding yourself every day of these motivational and action-oriented phrases. It also reminded me that when I was a teenager, there were backpacks, pencil cases, and notebooks with similar designs, and even though I wasn't into rock music yet, we were always inspired by the phrase “I love rock,” which was characteristic of that generation's rebelliousness (tell me I'm not that old🤣).
I admired that painting so much that I didn't take a photo of the flowers next to it, which I now look at in detail and think, “I must go back and take another photo.”

Este me pareció supermoderno y juvenil, como para colocar en una pared y recordar todos los días estas frases motivadoras y de acción. Me recordó también que en mi época de adolescencia, existían morrales, cartucheras y cuadernos con unos motivos parecidos y aunque no estaba en a movida rockera todavía, siempre nos inspiraba la frase "I love rock", característica de la rebeldía de esa generación (díganme que no soy tan old así de old🤣).
Tanto fue mi admiración por ese cuadro, que no tomé foto al de las flores de al lado que, ahora observo detalladamente y pienso "debo volver a tomar otra fotografía"😎.
And, of course, my devotion to the Virgin of the Valley, patron saint of the land where I was born. Even though I am far away, there will always be something to remind me of her, and it is her protection that accompanies me wherever I go.
This image needs nothing else because she is the protagonist, with that calm and serenity with which she is always portrayed, and her sea in the background, as the guardian of all seas.

Y lo que no puede faltar, mi devoción mariana por la Virgen del Valle, patrona de la tierra donde nací. Aunque esté lejos, siempre habrá algo que me la recuerde y es su protección la que me acompaña a donde quiera que voy.
Esta imagen no necesita más nada porque la protagonista es ella, con esa calma y serenidad que siempre la retratan, y su mar de fondo, como cuidadora de todos los mares.

Let me show you one of the seven modern wonders: our Angel Falls. I have mixed feelings about whether I want to visit it or not, because it costs a lot of money to get there; we'll see what happens and maybe someone will come along to take me😉.
As you walk through the gallery, you see that there is something to admire in every space, something that surely has a story to tell and something we can identify with according to our tastes. In this sense, there were three paintings that I loved.
Number 1 was my Frida. She is the same everywhere, the same painting and essence, but I find her intimate every time I come across something of hers. I don't know how to explain it, but whenever I can, I admire her life and work. My J.J. already knows that wherever Frida is, there will be a photograph:

Les muestro una de las 7 maravillas modernas: nuestro salto Ángel. Tengo sentimientos encontrados de si quiero conocerlo o no, porque hace falta mucho dinero para llegar allá; ya veremos que sucede y llega alguien que me lleve😉.
A medida que se avanza en la galería, se ve que en cada espacio existe algo que admirar, que seguramente tiene historia que quiere ser contada y con qué identificarnos según nuestros gustos. En este sentido, hubo tres pinturas que me encantaron.
La número 1 fue mi Frida. Ella es igual en todos lados, la misma pintura y esencia, pero a mí me resulta íntima cada vez que me topo con algo de ella. No sé como explicarlo, pero siempre que puedo, me quedo admirando su vida y obra. Ya mi J.J. sabe que donde esté Frida, allí va una fotografía:
The other one, which was somewhat hidden, is the couple formed by Simón Bolívar, our liberator, and his faithful companion, Manuela Sáenz. It was hard for me to recognize her because of the anime style they used, but once it was fixed in my mind, I had to bring it to you as well. It wasn't the best photo, so I have to take a better one and honor her entire legacy in this country and Latin America:

La otra (s), que estaba como escondida es la pareja conformada por Simón Bolívar, nuestro libertador y su fiel compañera, Manuela Sáenz. Me costó reconocerla por la forma de anime que la hicieron, pero una vez fijada en mi mente, tuve que traerla a ustedes también. No fue la mejor foto, por ello debo volver a fotografiarla mejor y hacer honor a todo su legado en este país y Latinoamérica:

The gallery has a second floor and several rooms that I didn't photograph, so I've decided that I MUST RETURN! However, I hope you enjoyed this hidden corner of this tourist city as much as I did. La galería cuenta con un segundo piso y varios salones que no fotografié, por lo que está decidido que ¡DEBO VOLVER!
