Barangay Calangahan is a peaceful and quite place, and for me it is a kind of relaxing areas. Today, as part of my blog, allow me to share some of the simple way of living on some residents here. Calangahan is one of the Barangay located in Municipality of Lugait, and it contains lots of wonderful views just like seascapes, plain shorelines and a sandy areas perfect for those who loves beach adventure. This Barangay is quite far from the main road and it needs to travel a few kilometers before reaching this place. In the heart or at the middle of the place is the Great Chapel.
This chapel was built 10 years already and it is made of solid concrete painted with colorful paints to make it more attractive. Every April 4, this Barangay celebrates their Fiesta and expected to have lots of colorful flaglettes decorated at the entire place. Aside of chapel, there are also some different kinds of commercial eatablishments like Stores, Gymnasiun, Health Center and Barangay Hall.
Most part of this areas are solid rocks including some of the cliff. Some of the solid rocks are very high and contains lots of wild plants and grass. Near at this rock walls is the Main Barangay Road connected at Barangay Punta Silum, where people always went to avoid crowded streets. Not all of the Barangay road are concreted but it is still very easy to went here. This big rock walls is facing towards the sea and some tall trees grows and few houses are built at the top of this rock walls.
This Barangay is located slightly high part of the cliff that is why great over views can be seen from here. Wide sea and small boats floating at the can also be seen and also the huge rocks scattered at the shore. Some coconut trees also grows at the shore, and it produced lots of fruits and a tons of fine sands and pebbles scattered at the place. Each side of the street also contains solar lights to lighten the road every evening.
This road is the only way were people always headed going out of this Barangay and it connected to the main street. Lots of houses, stores and other kinds of structures built on each side of this road including the old chapel. This line of structures are houses and most of it are made of light materials like lumbers and bamboo pieces.
Most residents here depends on fishing activities, they built small boats made of plywoods, lumbers and bamboos so they can get sailing to the sea and cast their fishing nets. Each boats contains different kinds of colors and serial numbers so the owner can identified their boats. Before they set sail, first they checked the entire boat particularly the surface of the small boats and also includes the engines, lamp lights, fishing nets and paddles. Every vacant or resting time, they also put their boats here at the shore and tied in the strong structure so the waves can't reached and flashed away.
Some of the residents also planted some agricultural plants like this one. This vine plant is planted near at the shore in fact fine sands can be seen here including on where this plant grows. It produces lots of fruits and can be harvested by next day.
Because of the fine sand can be seen here, children will really love to play building a sand castle. Every Summer season, lots of tourists always visit here splashing at the water and children playing a sand castle. There are parts of the shore near at this place were lots of big rocks and corals can be seen.
This wide and deep sea water is perfect as a swimming place to all visitors and tourists. Aside of that, it is also a fishing ground to all fishermen. Under in the sea water are tons of fine sands and some peebles. Living in a place just like this is very fun and enjoyable, we can truly feel the relaxing and be more comfortable.
