It has been a while since I published my last post...but yes, here I am.
After my last post, I planned to take a week or two off, but life happened... lol.
In this post, my first for this year, I want to share some photos I recently took on a completely unplanned outing. I felt the need to take my camera and get out again to capture some scenes from nature. I had no idea where to go for some shots or even what I was looking for... We just got in the car and headed out.
We ended up on Battery Beach in Durban...
So, as mentioned...this was not a planned shoot.
I stepped out with no agenda, no sunrise strategy, no checklist — just my camera and the rhythm of the shoreline. And sometimes, that’s when the ocean decides to show its character.
The waves came rolling in with a steady rhythm. They were almost glass-like before they folded into themselves. For a brief second, the light would filter through the curl, creating a translucent green wall before collapsing into white foam. I noticed the white foam forming at the top of the wave reflecting in the water below. I got drawn in, and it became a challenge to capture that effect in my shots.

There’s something about photographing waves up close that feels different from wide seascapes. It’s more intimate. More intense. You’re not capturing the horizon — you’re capturing motion.
Standing there, I was reminded why I keep coming back to the ocean. Each wave rises with structure. It builds. It holds tension. You see the white reflection in the water, and then it releases. It repeats itself in a steady rhythm, yet no two waves are the same...
The ocean never disappoints.
And that's it for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!
It's nice to be back, and I am busy planning some new adventures and themes I can share in 2026.
Remember... Slow down. Slower is often faster.

These photos were taken from the pier on Battery Beach, Durban, South Africa.
