Naawan, Misamis Oriental is not only a place were few ancestral houses can be found. It is also a place were lots of Beautiful sites that can visit by Tourists.
Naawan, is one of the Municipality here in the Province of Misamis Oriental Mindanao Philippines. A progressive place were lots of commercial establishments, schools, Houses, Fish ports, Beach resorts and many wonderful places can be seen and found. This place is facing towards panguil bay and it is located near at the coastal areas of the Province. This Municipality is composted with many Barangays and some of it are located near at the Main road. Some of the ancestral house can also found near at the road. One of the ancestral house built here is this one, according to the historians late 1800s when this big wooden house was built. It is owned by one of the noble family here in Naawan. The structure is made of solid Native lumbers like molave and mahogany including its floors. This structure is now under preservation and served as a tourist spots.
This is the Naawan Fish Port, everyday lots of small boats landed here bringing lots of catched fish. This place is where fish sellers and traders went buy to do the trade or buying the fish used to sell at the Supermarket. Many metal tables installed at the place so it can easily classified the fish according to the likes of all fish buyers. In local term, we called this site Bagsakan because all of the fish displayed in here. There are also some wooden structures built here and it is served as a resting areas to all fishermen and for those who loves to visit the place. The structure is painted with blue and white color so it will become more attractive and aside of that a second storey of the building also built so toursist can climb up watching the great overviews of the sea.
Bay-walk or others called it Boulivard also found here, this kilometer boulivard is one of the most popular place to visit here in Naawan. Lots of special occasions like Disco, Birthdays, are held here because of the perfect place and views can be seen. Aside of that, an old port also constructed here many years ago and it was completely abandoned leaving a deep and shallow sea water. Tons of fine sands and peebles scattered at the shore and few beach resort can be seen and found.
Churches are very old and still standing now-a-days, in fact this are some of the historical place that everyone will really like to visit. This is the old church of Iglesia Filipina Independiente, It built many years ago and it only renovated so the damage parts of the structure can be replace into new one. It is also coated with white and blue paints with some fascinating designs on each side of the structure. This Church was built year 1975 and it is still stand until today.
This Catholic Church of San Isidro Labrador, a patron Saint here at the Municipality. Thousands of worshippers went here every Sunday, just like I.F.I church, it is also very old and it built year 1925. Because of the renovation process, the structure still standing until today. Almost a hectare of land occupied this place inluding those parking lots, landscapes, forestry place and convent.
This Municipality is also near at the River and to prevent from any catastrophy, this wide and long flood controls really helps to all residents who lives near at the river. Each side of the cliff at the river are filled with solid concrete and it constructed very well. At the top of the flood control is the bike lanes and a concrete stairs, it is perfect to walk or ride on the bike. A long metal thing are also installed that served as a metal fence so everyone can be safe from falling to the water. Municipality of Naawan has its own Fascinating and wonderful place to visit and exploring this Municipality will be very worth it. Until next post, have a safe travel to everyone.
