Welcome my dear all-powerful travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, if you are loyal followers (What a shame if it is not the case) you will know that lately I have been watching a lot of anime, I have been in love with it, among those I had pending "Overlord" came out which looked like an interesting Isekai so I decided to give it a try. Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros todopoderosos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, si son seguidores fieles (Qué vergüenza si no es el caso) sabrán que últimamente he estado viendo mucho anime, me ha dado el venaso por ello, entre los que tenía pendientes salió a relucir "Overlord" el cual parecía un Isekai interesante por lo que decidí darle una oportunidad. Sin más que agregar, prepárense para ser amos y señores de unas nuevas tierras pues estamos por comenzar.
Overlord was released in 2015, is based on the light novels of the same name written by Kugane Maruyama, directed by Naoyuki Itō and produced by Madhouse, has a total of 52 episodes. It is an action and fantasy story, the story focuses on Momonga, a user of a game called Yggdrasil a DMMORPG, very popular for 12 years but unfortunately went into decline to the point of having to close his servers forever, as a last act of love for his favorite game Momonga decides to be connected during the last moments honoring his position as leader of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown, the thing is that after closing time he cannot disconnect and sooner rather than later he realizes that he became his character and that the base of his guild was teleported to a new world where magic is the daily bread, as regent of The Great Tomb of Nazarick he decides to guide all the NPCs who are subordinate to his will to explore this new world.
Overlord fue estrenada en 2015, se basa en las novelas ligeras homónimas escritas por Kugane Maruyama, dirigida por Naoyuki Itō y producida por Madhouse, cuenta con un total de 52 episodios. Es una historia de acción y fantasía, la historia se enfoca en Momonga, un usuario de un juego llamado Yggdrasil un DMMORPG, muy popular durante 12 años pero que desgraciadamente entro en decadencia al punto de tener que cerrar sus servidores para siempre, como último acto de cariño por su juego favorito Momonga decide estar conectado durante los últimos momentos honrando su puesto como líder del gremio Ainz Ooal Gown, al asunto está que después de la hora de cierre no puede desconectarse y más temprano que tarde se da cuenta que se convirtió en su personaje y que la base de su gremio fue teletransportada a un nuevo mundo en donde la magia es el pan de cada día, como regente de La Gran Tumba de Nazarick decide guiar a todos los NPC que están subordinados a su voluntad para explorar este nuevo mundo.

The animation is a very strange and inconsistent section, in the face of the traditional one it looks excellent, it has a very good level of detail and there are characters that overflow with an extremely imposing aura, not only the protagonist but also other characters, the problem is with the CGI which is simply horrendous, in the opportunities that this is introduced it looks completely unpleasant and with stiff movements, it is a very strange contrast between the traditional beauty and how terrible the CGI is implemented, on the other hand, the fights do not look as fluid as they should and on more than one occasion there are missing action sequences that are replaced by too many unnecessary dialogues, this makes such encounters even more tedious being few that really look fantastic.
La animación es un apartado muy extraño e inconsistente, de cara a la tradicional se ve excelente, tiene un muy buen nivel de detalle y hay personajes que desbordan un aura sumamente imponente, no solo el protagonista sino también otros personajes, el problema está con el CGI que es sencillamente horrendo, en las oportunidades que este es introducido se ve completamente desagradable y con movimientos acartonados, es un contraste muy extraño entre la belleza tradicional y lo terrible implementado que está el CGI, por otro lado, las peleas no se ven todo lo fluidas que deberían y en más de una ocasión faltan secuencias de acción que se sustituyen por demasiados diálogos innecesarios, esto hace de dichos encuentros aún más tediosos siendo pocos los que realmente se ven fantásticos.
The soundtrack is nothing special, it is present but it does not really stand out for anything specific, this makes it a section that passes without pain or glory.
La banda sonora no es nada del otro mundo, está presente pero no destaca realmente por nada en específico, esto lo convierte en un apartado que pasa sin pena ni gloria.
The world-building is quite meh, the context must be tarnished with medieval and magical elements, however, these do not have a remarkable presence, which is reflected in its lack of world exploration which greatly limits the series from having something more striking in terms of its scenery.
La construcción de mundo es bastante meh, el contexto debe de estar empañado de elementos medievales y mágicos, sin embargo, estos no tienen una presencia destacable, lo anterior se refleja en su falta de exploración de mundo lo que limita enormemente a la serie de tener algo más llamativo de cara a su escenografía.
The plot is quite boring since it does not have a fixed objective at any time, it feels capricious and without a clear direction, this would not be a problem if it made up for this lack with combats or another striking element but that is not the case. The narrative is poor, things only happen just because they do and there is not really an order in anything, in addition, its plot twists are extremely forced and completely predictable, except in the last season where some of these are more careful and are more plausible. This accumulation of mistakes are what make her feel tedious and heavy to watch, her perverted jokes only make her more annoying.
La trama es bastante aburrida puesto que la misma no tiene un objetivo fijo en ningún momento, se siente caprichosa y sin un rumbo claro, esto no sería un problema si supliera dicha carencia con combates u otro elemento llamativo pero ese no es el caso. La narrativa es pobre, las cosas solo suceden porque sí y no existe realmente un orden en nada, además, sus giros argumentales son sumamente forzados y completamente predecibles, salvo en la última temporada que se tiene más cuidado con algunos de estos y son más plausibles. Este cúmulo de errores son los que hacen que se sienta tediosa y pesada de ver, sus chistes pervertidos solo la hacen más molesta.
There is not much to highlight in this section, in general, all the characters are flat and lack any interesting element that makes them stand out in some way or that develops a personality. the only thing that can be highlighted is the fact that the protagonist is someone quite cruel and ruthless, to the point that his pulse does not tremble to take a life, this I take a little out of the conventional role that the main characters have in the Isekai, it is nothing out of this world but at least it is interesting.
No hay mucho que destacar en este apartado, en general, todos los personajes son planos y carecen de algún elemento interesante que los haga destacar de alguna forma o que desarrolle una personalidad. Lo único que se puede destacar es el hecho que el protagonista es alguien bastante cruel y despiadado, al punto de que no le tiembla el pulso para quitar una vida, esto lo saco un poco del rol convencional que tienen los personajes principales en los Isekai, no es nada del otro mundo pero por lo menos es interesante.
Overlord is an empty shell, it doesn't really have anything to stand out for and its only interesting point is that its protagonist is stupidly strong, however, this is not innovative, since there are already other anime that have done this and better (The Eminence in the Shadow for example). It is for all of the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, it is not something worth seeing for the simple fact of feeling like something more than the bunch, if you have a lot of free time and do not care about the quality give it a chance although from the beginning he clarified that there are better options.
Overlord es un cascarón vacío, no tiene realmente nada en lo que destaque y su único punto interesante es el que su protagonista sea estúpidamente fuerte, no obstante, esto no es innovador, puesto que ya hay otros anime que han hecho esto y mejor (The Eminence in the Shadow por ejemplo). Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, no es algo que valga la pena ver por el simple hecho de sentirse como algo más del montón, si tienen mucho tiempo libre y no les importa la calidad denle una oportunidad aunque desde el vamos aclaró que hay mejores opciones.
